The following 4 photos were taken from a hot air balloon by David Riffle on
Sept. 12, 2002. The photos show the Ohio River near Letart, West Virginia
and Racine, Ohio, the Racine Locks and Dam on the Ohio River, the
power plants near New Haven, West Virginia, and an aerial view of
Route 2 near Point Pleasant, West Virginia. I'd like to thank the pilot of the
hot air balloon, Bert Bratcher, for the "perfect" and "unforgettable" flight.

The view from a hot air balloon is breathtaking!
Standing in a small open basket, you can see the beauty of
nature in all directions: the sky above, the ground below,
and 360 degrees full circle. When the burner isn't heating
the balloon, you can't hear a sound (it's very peaceful).
Having no control of wind direction or wind speed once in
flight, part of the excitement of riding in a hot air balloon
is not knowing where one will land. It's a lot of fun!
