City water (supplied by the Cottageville PSD)

City water (supplied by the Cottageville PSD) takes a toll on humidifiers,
hot water tanks, coffee pots, etc. Just look at the "crud" inside this humidifier
(see the photo below)....Yuck!

Just wondering....If it does this to a humidifier, what does it do
to those who drink it???? Does anyone have kidney stones?

No joke, the cost of the city water (and its accompaning sewer bill) is
very EXPENSIVE. City water is even higher in price when one factors
in the costs to replace damaged household items (especially the more
expensive items such as hot water tanks).

There is a big difference between water that is supposedly "safe to drink" and "good quality water"! Afterall, the sewer water being dumped into Millcreek in Millwood, WV (from the nearby sewage treatment plant) is "supposed" to be safe for discharging into the stream, but I wouldn't want to drink it. Further downstream (with water taken from the Ohio River), they are! (Most of us do though if we drink cola and other bottled products, etc.). City water is perhaps only good for flushing toilets (some people would disagree on that, because the city water from the Cottageville PSD has too many lime or calcium deposits left in the toilet bowl....look at the photo above and you can imagine). City water isn't good for watering the lawn either....as you will get an expensive sewer bill on top of the water charges. Look at the photo above again, and decide for yourself what city water is good for.

Click here to read yet another article posted Feb. 18, 2005 which contains several more photos of the crud and scum in the city water. Once you have looked at the disgusting photos in this article, it is likely that you will question the "long term" safety of the city water as well. If the city water crud will completely plug up a water line, what is it doing to those of us who are drinking it?
